Meet Katie Skirty!
Little Katie Skirty was found in Athens when she was just 3 months old. She had been hit by a car, and someone had moved her to the side of the road and left her there, just like that. Despite being injured and unable to walk, the tiny kitten, in a state of panic, tried to drag herself away from the spot. Thankfully, her rescuers saw her. With nothing else to carry her safely, they wrapped her in a long skirt, and that’s how she got her name.
She couldn’t walk at first, but luckily she was found in time. She received treatment right away and recovered very quickly. Today, Katie Skirty is healthy and loves to run around. The only small reminder of her past is that one of her ears sits a little lower than the other.
Katie Skirty may not stand out at first glance, which might be why she hasn’t been adopted yet. But she has a very special heart. In her foster home, the star cat was Symfora, but during Symfora’s final moments, when the other cats were unkind to her, Katie Skirty would go to her, gently nudge her, and sit by her side, offering comfort and support.
Katie Skirty loves other cats and, though she might need a little time to warm up to people, once she does, she is incredibly sweet and cuddly. She adores gentle pets and has the softest fur. Because she relies on having a feline companion, she needs a home that either already has another cat or is ready to adopt one of her friends along with her.
She truly deserves a loving home. What she may lack in looks, she more than makes up for with an immense heart and her kind, loving nature.

Fairy Tails is a non-profit organization based in Greece. We are a passionate group of volunteers who cannot stand by while animals suffer on the streets. We believe every living being deserves love, dignity, and a chance for a better future. We rescue animals in need; each has its own story, and we often don’t know their full past. What matters most is the love, patience, and care we offer them as they begin a new, happy chapter they deserve. We fight for their right to a better life in every way we can. We are also dedicated to supporting cat colonies by providing food, essential medical care, and sterilization programs to improve their well-being.
Our mission is made possible through donations, allowing us to continue making a real difference in the lives of stray animals.
