Some cats survive the streets. Mirka survived them without losing her faith in people.
She was found wandering the streets of Athens after what must have been one of the hardest moments of her life. Her body was still full of milk, but despite extensive searches, her kittens were nowhere to be found. As if that heartbreak wasn’t enough, when she was rescued, one of her eyes was completely missing—a silent reminder of the difficult life she had endured before anyone was there to help her.
No one knows exactly what happened to Mirka. But somehow, despite everything she lost, she never stopped believing that people could be kind.
Today, she is safe in foster care in Athens, Greece, and ready to leave her past behind.
Mirka is an incredibly affectionate and devoted companion. She doesn’t simply enjoy human company, she seeks it. She will happily follow you from room to room, weaving around your feet like a loyal little dog, always wanting to know what you’re doing and hoping to be part of it. If you’re looking for a cat who truly becomes your companion in everyday life, Mirka is exactly that cat.
Still young and full of life, she loves playing, exploring, and chasing her favorite toys. Beneath her playful spirit is a confident little queen who knows exactly what she wants. She enjoys being the center of attention and would be happiest as the only cat in the home or with calm feline companions who respect her independent personality.
Her missing eye doesn’t define her. If anything, it makes her unforgettable. Her permanent little wink has become part of her charm, a reminder not of what she lost, but of everything she has overcome.
Mirka is spayed and FIV positive but shows no signs of illness. FIV-positive cats can live long, healthy, and happy lives with a stable indoor lifestyle, proper nutrition, and regular veterinary care. FIV only affects cats and cannot be transmitted to people or other animal species.
After everything she has survived, Mirka isn’t looking for pity. She’s looking for what every cat deserves: a home where she will be loved, protected, and never have to wonder if she’s safe again.

The adoption fee includes and is exclusively used for the cat’s expenses, such as:

Adoption fees are as follows:
• Young/adult cat: 280€
• Senior (8+ years): 200€
• Unsterilised kitten: 230€
• Pair of young/adult cats: 480€
• Pair of seniors: 320€
• Pair of unsterilised kittens: 400€

What matters most is the love, patience, and care we offer them as they begin a new, happy chapter they deserve. We fight for their right to a better life in every way we can. We are also dedicated to supporting cat colonies by providing food, essential medical care, and sterilization programs to improve their well-being.
